Channel 4 Random Acts
Towards the end of my Illustration degree a man began haunting my sketchbooks. He started cropping up in a vast majority of my drawings. As time went on I felt unable to escape the grasp of this strange character, who I later named 'Lesley Stonker'. He appeared in the undertones of much of my work, slowly lumbering to the forefront of my mind in the form of an animation based on automatic drawing.
In a desperate final attempt to exorcise him from my life I decided to make a live action film, turning Lesley into a physical presence, destroying a room full of artwork - and hopefully himself in the process. It was made possible through Channel 4s Random Acts scheme, which gave young creatives the opportunity to win funding for their proposed projects.

Involvement with Random Acts led me to co-lead the art department for another film, making all the props, sourcing thousands of book pages and handing fire during the shoot.
